QwikJob is an online marketplace where employers hire freelancers for project work. Employers post what they need or buy a listed service; freelancers deliver it and get paid. Payment is held in escrow until the work is approved, so neither side has to trust the other up front.

How do I find the right freelancer?

Search or browse by category, then compare profiles on ratings, reviews, delivered work and portfolio. You can also post a project and let freelancers send you proposals. Message anyone before you commit — a short conversation about scope prevents most disputes.

What is escrow, in plain terms?

The employer's money is taken up front but parked with our payment partner instead of going straight to the freelancer. The freelancer can see it is there and start work confidently; the employer knows it is not released until they approve. Neither side has to go first on trust.

What do I need before I can receive money?

Accepted Answer

You need a payout account, set up once from your payouts page. You will be asked for your phone number, address, PIN code, bank account number and IFSC. Our payment partner then verifies your identity (KYC). Until that is approved, you can earn but not withdraw.

How much does QwikJob cost?

We charge 0% commission on the value of work. A freelancer keeps the full amount an employer pays for their services. We make money from optional paid plans, featured placements and AI credit top-ups instead. Payment gateway charges applicable to a transaction are shown at checkout before you pay.

When is my money taken, and when does the freelancer get it?

It depends which way you hired. Buying a listed service takes the payment when you place the order. Hiring from a proposal takes nothing at the point of hiring — you fund the contract's first milestone instead, and the work formally starts then. Either way the money is held in escrow and the freelancer cannot touch it. It is released only when you approve the work, or when the review window passes without you approving or raising a dispute. If you raise a dispute, it stays held until the dispute is decided.

Which payment methods can I use?

Cards, UPI, net banking and wallets, through our payment partner Razorpay. Prices are in Indian Rupees. We never see or store your full card number — it goes straight to the gateway.

Why should I keep communication on QwikJob?

Accepted Answer

Because it is the evidence. If a dispute is opened, we decide it on the brief, the messages and the delivery history on the Platform. Conversations that happened on WhatsApp or email are things we cannot verify, which usually means the person relying on them loses.

What do the AI features do with what I type?

Accepted Answer

Your prompt is sent to a third-party AI provider — DeepSeek, Google Gemini or OpenAI — to generate the answer. We do not send your bank details, password or identity documents, and we do not use your data to train our own models. Do not put confidential information or other people's personal data into an AI feature. The features are optional and the Platform works without them.

Why is my payout still pending?

The usual reasons are that identity verification is not yet complete, that a dispute is open on a related order, or that the bank details do not match your name exactly. Check your payouts page for the current status — it tells you which of these applies.

Do I need a separate account to hire and to sell?

Accepted Answer

No. One account does both. You choose whether you are hiring or offering services when you set up your profile, and you can switch from your dashboard at any time.

What if the work is not what I asked for?

Ask the freelancer for a revision first — most issues are resolved that way. If you cannot agree, open a dispute from the order before the review window closes. Our team reviews the brief, the messages and what was delivered, and decides whether the money is released, returned, or split.

Do you refund subscription fees?

Subscriptions, featured placements and AI credits are not generally refundable once the benefit has been delivered, except where the law requires it or where we charged you in error. Cancelling a plan stops the next renewal and does not shorten the period you have already paid for. If you think you were charged in error, write to billing@qwikjob.com within 30 days.

Someone asked me to pay outside QwikJob. What do I do?

Refuse, and report them. Paying outside the Platform removes the escrow that protects you — if the work never arrives, there is nothing for us to return, because we are holding nothing. It also breaches our terms, and accounts that do it are closed.

Are AI suggestions always right?

Accepted Answer

No. AI output can be wrong, incomplete or biased, and it is never legal, financial, medical or tax advice. Read anything it produces before you send or publish it — you are responsible for it exactly as if you had written it yourself.

How long do bank transfers take?

Accepted Answer

Once a payout is approved, we release it to our payment partner immediately. The partner settles to your bank on its own schedule, usually within a few working days. That final leg is not something we control.

Question 21

Is QwikJob available outside India?

Accepted Answer

Employers can hire from anywhere. Freelancers currently need an Indian bank account to receive payouts, because payouts run through our Indian payment partner. We are working on payouts to other countries.

Can I cancel an order?

Yes. If work has not started, cancelling returns the escrowed money to you in full. If work has partly been delivered, agree a fair split with the freelancer; if you cannot agree, open a dispute and we will decide it.

Where are my invoices?

Accepted Answer

Every payment generates an invoice you can view and download from your dashboard under Invoices. They carry our GST details and are valid for your accounts.

How do I report a user, a listing or a message?

Use the report option on the profile, listing or conversation, or email support@qwikjob.com with links and screenshots. We review reports and act on them, and you can escalate to our Grievance Officer at grievance@qwikjob.com if you are not satisfied — we acknowledge within 24 hours and aim to resolve within 15 days.

Do I have to pay tax on what I earn?

Yes. You are responsible for declaring your income and for any GST or income tax that applies to you. QwikJob does not deduct your taxes for you or give tax advice. Where the law requires us to deduct or collect tax at source, we will, and the statement will appear in your dashboard. Keep your invoices — you can download them any time.

How do I verify my account?

Verify your email from the link we send when you register. To receive payouts you will also complete an identity check (KYC) with our payment partner when you set up your payout account — that is a legal requirement, not an optional step.

Who owns the work I paid for?

Accepted Answer

You do, once the work is delivered and paid for in full, unless you have agreed otherwise in writing. The freelancer keeps their own pre-existing tools, templates and know-how, and may show the delivered work in their portfolio unless you have agreed they will not.

Should I raise a chargeback with my bank?

Please open a dispute with us first — it is faster and it does not put your account at risk. A chargeback goes through your card issuer and takes weeks, and we may suspend the account while it is investigated. If our dispute process has not resolved things, you still have the option.

How do disputes get decided?

Both sides are asked for their account and evidence. The escrowed money stays held throughout. Our team reads the brief, the messages and what was actually delivered, then decides: release in full, return in full, or split. That decision settles where the escrowed money goes; it is not a court judgment and does not affect any other legal rights.

Yes, and it stays free. Creating an account, building a profile, browsing, posting projects and receiving proposals all cost nothing, and QwikJob takes 0% commission on the value of work — a freelancer keeps the full amount an employer pays. What happens when I accept a proposal — am I charged straight away?

No. Accepting a proposal opens a contract and takes no money. The contract is held until you fund its first milestone, and only then does the work formally start. On fixed-price work that first milestone is half the agreed price; on hourly work it is a deposit covering the first week, which you can adjust before paying. Until it is funded, no hours can be logged and the freelancer is told not to begin.

How do milestone payments work?

Split a large project into milestones and fund them one at a time. Each milestone's money sits in escrow before that stage of work begins, and is released when it is approved. A contract stays on hold until the employer funds the first milestone — no work is expected before then. The employer only ever has one milestone at risk, and the freelancer gets paid as they go instead of waiting until the end.

Anyone who wants to be paid completes an identity check (KYC) with our payment partner — a legal requirement, not an optional badge. Beyond that, quality is visible rather than asserted: ratings, reviews tied to real completed orders, completion rates and response times all show on the profile.

Can I hire for both hourly and fixed-price work?

Yes. Post fixed-price work with milestones, or hourly work with weekly limits — whichever fits the engagement. Fixed-price suits a defined deliverable; hourly suits open-ended or ongoing work.

When do freelancers get paid?

Accepted Answer

When the employer approves the delivery, or when the review window passes without approval or dispute, the amount moves to the freelancer's balance. From there they request a payout, which is sent to their Indian bank account through our payment partner, Razorpay. Identity verification (KYC) must be complete before any payout is released.

Yes. From any freelancer profile you can message them directly or invite them to apply to a project you have posted. Inviting does not commit you to hiring them.
