Offline-first Android app for recorded lessons

Project Description

Our students download lessons at home on wifi and watch them on the bus. The current app re-buffers whenever the signal drops and loses the position in the video, which is the single most common complaint we get. We need download management, encrypted local storage so a downloaded lesson cannot simply be copied out, resumable playback, and sync of watch progress when the connection comes back. Android first. Most of our students are on devices with 32GB of storage and four-year-old chipsets, so please tell us how you would test on that rather than on a Pixel.
