Productising Your Service Into Fixed Packages
Aug 23, 2026 • QwikJob Team

Custom quoting is expensive. Every project needs a call, an estimate, a proposal and a negotiation before any paid work happens. For small jobs, that overhead can exceed the fee.
A productised service replaces all of it with a price and a description.
What productising means
Instead of selling hours, you sell a defined outcome at a fixed price with a fixed turnaround.
- A one-page website in five working days
- A logo with three concepts and two revision rounds
- A technical SEO audit with a prioritised fix list
The client buys it the way they buy anything else. No call, no estimate.

Why it earns more per hour
Because you get faster at the same thing. The tenth logo package takes less time than the first, and the price does not fall. On hourly billing, getting faster reduces your income, which is a strange incentive to live with.
Three tiers, not one
Offer a small, a standard and a large version. Most buyers pick the middle one, but the presence of the other two makes the middle feel like a decision rather than a take-it-or-leave-it price.
The cheapest tier is not there to be bought. It is there to make the middle tier look reasonable.
Say what is not included
A package with unclear edges is a fixed-price project with unlimited scope. Write the exclusions in the description, not in a conversation afterwards.
Start with what you already repeat
Look at your last ten jobs. Whatever you did more than twice is your first package. You have already worked out how long it takes and what goes wrong.
